Main Application Fields:
- Ion Exchange Membrane: Used as an ion-conducting membrane material in redox flow batteries (all vanadium, zinc-based, organic), proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs), direct methanol fuel cells (DMFCs), and as the cation-exchange layer in bipolar membranes (BPMs);
- Water Treatment Membrane Materials: Its high ion selectivity makes SPEEK suitable for use as a membrane material in water treatment processes such as electrodialysis (desalination and material separation) and nanofiltration (small-molecule retention);
- Electrochemical Reactors: Used as a proton-conducting medium to facilitate proton transport within the reactor and support efficient electrochemical reaction performance;
- Chemical Sensors: Used to modify sensor sensitive layers, enhancing response sensitivity and detection accuracy for target ions or analytes;
- Composite Electrolytes: Can be combined with inorganic nanofillers (such as silica, zirconia) or polymer matrices to form composite proton-conducting electrolytes with enhanced mechanical and transport properties.
Key Technical Parameters:
- Appearance: White to light brown noodle-like solid under normal conditions; the color of products with different sulfonation degrees varies slightly;
- Solubility: Soluble in common polar organic solvents such as NMP (N-methylpyrrolidone), DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide), DMAc (dimethylacetamide), and DMF (dimethylformamide);
- Storage Conditions: Seal and store in a cool, dry place away from moisture and light to minimize changes in material performance.
